The fame of her was born when she played one of the key roles in the horror-slasher movie Scream. It was extremely successful commercially, and made around 11 times its budget. Also, it was lauded by critics. The actress played the same character in three sequels. Her popularity reached new heights after she played a main character in the sitcom Friends. For her role she won numerous nominations and awards. It ran for 10 years. Recent works of hers include an acting role as a character in Mothers and Daughters, a drama film. Some of the awards won by her include her TV Guide Award for her character in Friends and her Golden Derby Award for her role in the TV show Cougar Town.
