Amy Lou Adams, full name Amy Lou Adams (born 20 August 1974 Aviano Italy), American actress. Her fame is for her naive roles that are fun and loved by critics. Adams was among seven siblings who grew up as a child in Castle Rock, CO. Adams was born when her father was employed by the U.S. Military in Italy. The mid-1990s saw her begin professional dancing and acting with The Boulder Dinner Theatre and the Country Dinner Playhouse in Colorado. After that, she joined an area theatre in Minnesota in which she was cast in a mock documentary film on beauty contests called Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999). She moved to Los Angeles after making her debut as the naive but good-hearted contestant. From June 1951 to September 22, 1962 she was married to actress Tony Curtis. She is also the mother of Kelly Curtis & Jamie Lee Curtis. She was discovered by an actress Norma Shearer Leigh secured a deal with MGM and began her film career during the early 1940s. She appeared in several popular films over the following decade which included Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) as well as Living It Up (a Martin and Lewis film from 1954).
